JUNE 2004 — Today I am 44. I will celebrate the day in solitude. And apparently at the keyboard getting this weblog started. My husband is out of town. My daughter and grandson live 1000 miles away. I’ve managed to keep my birthdate a secret from friends in our new hometown of the past 2 years. So it can be a day all my own – nowhere to be, no to-do list, no surprises. Just like I wanted. Or did I?

Although I’ve posted a few things on my church’s weblog, this is my first posting on my very own weblog. I answered why I’m doing this in the few paragraphs on the “Welcome” page (which was on my original blog hosted elsewhere; I’ll have to see if I printed out the text). But who am I?

  • Female. 44. Very happily married (finally).
  • Mother of a daughter I’ve been told looks just like me.
  • Grandmother of a very sweet little boy that sang me the birthday song from Blue’s Clues.
  • Runner/marathoner than is neither lean nor lithe.
  • Mississippi State Bulldog (BBA in 1985); Texas Aggie (MS in 1996 – I HAD to have an Aggie ring)
  • Fan of classic movies, mostly from the 1930s and 1940s (I really, REALLY want Robert Osborne’s job on Turner Classic Movies)
  • Taker of many photos
  • A simple southerner whose life has been radically improved by the presence of God in her life.

I hope you’ll come back.

    Hi,

I found you though a post you made with reference to David Martin.
    I’m a 1978 Sprayberry grad as well…..who are you?
