Soon we will hike the span of Hadrian’s Wall in northern England, posting here whenever we can. The trail, 84 miles long from the North Sea on the east to the Irish Sea on the west, follows the path of the wall ordered built by the Emperor Hadrian in the second century A.D. to protect the northern border of the Roman Empire.
Why am I doing this?
1. Bragging rights (to myself).
2. I can get a patch:
3. UK accents all day, every day.
4. We get to stroll from B&B to B&B while someone else takes care of the luggage, and packs us lunch.
5. A different pub (and different ale) every night.
Stay tuned…
